Liverpool Boss Targets 24m Raid to Sign Tottenham, Fulham and Man City Trio

Roy Hodgson has earmarked January moves for three Premier League players as he seeks to continue
to pull his Liverpool side out of their early season nosedive. The Anfield boss is looking to
clinch deals to bring Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, Fulham centre back Brede Hangeland
and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-phillips to Merseyside.
Shaun Wright-Phillips:
According to reports Manchester City midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips is amenable to a switch to Liverpool FC.
The Mirror claims the England winger is on Reds boss Roy Hodgson 's list of targets to add pace to his midfield.
Wright-Phillips would be available for a cut-price fee as he is in the final year of his contract at Eastlands.
It is understood that contract talks with City have stalled lending weight to the view that the winger would be
willing to leave should the right club come in.

Liverpool 'plot sensational double swoop' after Hodgson scouting trip

Liverpool are allegedly preparing bids for PSV Eindhoven pair Ola Toivonen and Ibrahim Afellay.
According to The Mirror, Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson flew to Holland at the weekend to watch the duo
in action against FC Twente and will meet with Liverpool owner John W. Henry to discuss signing the exciting
talents. Dutch midfielder Afellay is thought to be at the centre of a bidding war between several clubs -
including Barcelona and Liverpool - while Sweden striker Toivonen was reportedly close to moving to Anfield
during the summer. Both players are only 24-years-old and £20 million is thought to be enough to land the pair,
who will both fit with Liverpool's new ethos of investing in young talent. Henry has spoken of using a similar
model at Liverpool to the one that Arsene Wenger has adopted with Arsenal by spending money on players who still
have room to develop rather than throwing money at ageing professionals. "I admire Arsenal very much," Henry said,
"and part of that is that they are profitable. To me, the word profitable means sustainable able to sustain a business
that has a high degree of excellence. Again I would refer to Arsenal."

'New Torres' tipped to play major Liverpool role

|
Daniel Pacheco is being readied to make an impact on the Liverpool first team. The Spanish ace is one of the hottest prospects in
Europe and has already impressed during his time with the Liverpool reserves. Aged only 19, Pacheco moved to Anfield from Barcelona
in 2007 and has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of compatriot and Liverpool hero Fernando Torres. Although - like Torres - the
Spain under 19 international traditionally favours a striking role, Roy Hodgson has requested that the youngster is played in wide
positions for the reserves with a view to him playing on the wing for the Liverpool first XI. "The boss (Roy Hodgson) is keen on him, "
reserve team coach John McMahon told the official Liverpool website. "He sees Dani filling those wide roles, so when he plays for the
reserves he occupies those positions and learns to adapt and play in them. "It's good for his development to learn several roles
and it will only benefit him, especially if he's required to do a job for the first-team. "

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson said he will field a strong team for the Europa League clash against Napoli despite risking more injuries to key players.
He will be without midfielder Joe Cole (hamstring), forward Dirk Kuyt (ankle) and defender Daniel Agger (calf). Defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos was pulled
out of training as a precaution after complaining of a groin problem. "We'll have a strong team out on Thursday, we won't rest too many, " said the Liverpool
manager. Liverpool (from): Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Krygiakos, Konchesky, Poulsen, Lucas, Gerrard,
