PHASE 2

SATURDAY 22/01/2011 - FRIDAY 04/02/2011

WEEKEND
DANNY MURPHY helped inspire an FA Cup sensation as Fulham battered Spurs. The Cottagers captain grabbed two early penalties in their 4-0 win - and the Star Man bonus to boot. But his opposite number, Spurs skipper Michael Dawson had a miserable afternoon - picking up a straight red card and seeing his awful defence ship goal after goal. Paul Scholes and Michael Owen rolled back the years as Man United squeaked past Southampton. Owen found the back of the net on a rare start, while Scholes landed the man-of-the-match bonus. And it was left to young pup Javier Hernandez to complete United's comeback from 1-0 down. Marouane Fellaini turned it on to win the plaudits as Everton gave Chelsea a real run for their money. And Victor Obinna grabbed a sizzling treble and picked up the top dog bragging rights as West Ham beat Nottingham Forest 3-2. Meanwhile, a number of Premier League clubs saw their big-money names outshone by lower-league grafters. At Meadow Lane, Neal Bishop ruled the roost as Notts County held Man City 1-1. And at the Emirates Peter Clarke scored an own goal yet still took the Star Man rating as Arsenal beat Huddersfield 2-1. Kevin Phillips proved to be Birmingham's golden oldie with a late winner against Coventry and the best-in-show billing. And Jordi Gomez (Wigan), Chris Eagles (Burnley), Clinton Morrison (Sheff Wed), Mikele Leigertwood (Reading), James Jones (Brighton), Thomas Sorenson (Stoke) and Pablo Mills (Crawley) were the rest of the FA Cup heroes.

WEEKEND
CARLOS TEVEZ made it 14 Premier League goals for the season as Manchester City sneaked past Wolves 4-3. And the striker's double was good news for Dream Team bosses because it earned the Argie ace the Star Man bonus of five points. Tevez, playing in front of his two daughters, scooped 18 points, a total matched by Robin van Persie, Branislav Ivanovic and Peter Odemwingie. Van Persie was on target twice in Arsenal's 3-0 dismantling of West Ham, Theo Walcott grabbing the other goal. Odemwingie also hit two as West Brom earned a much-needed 3-2 victory against Blackpool at the Hawthorns. Ivanovic netted Chelsea's opener in the 2-0 defeat of Blackburn, the Serb picking up a five-point clean sheet bonus along the way. Nemanja Vidic also benefited from a shutout as Manchester United and Spurs played out a goalless draw at White Hart Lane. It was far from a dour affair, though, and both sides had numerous chances to win it. But United's point will feel sweeter after they finished with 10 men following Rafael's red card - a three-point deduction in Dream Team. Hugo Rodallega led the line superbly in Wigan's 1-1 draw against Fulham. He hit the opener before Andy Johnson's first goal in 17 months recused a point for the Londoners. Tuncay did not get the move he wanted out of Stoke after posting a video of his top 10 goals on the internet. But he did earn the Star Man honours as the Potters downed Bolton 2-0. On Sunday, there were three derbies - and all three ended in draws. Goals from Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt were cancelled out by strikes from Sylvain Distin and Jermaine Beckford as Liverpool draw 2-2 with Everton at Anfield. Sunderland left it late before avoiding a double defeat to rivals Newcastle, Asamoah Gyan netting in injury-time after Kevin Nolan's opener. And at St Andrew's, centre-halves Roger Johnson and James Collins traded goals as Birmingham and Aston Villa ended 1-1.

SATURDAY 01/01/2011 - FRIDAY 07/01/2011

WEEKEND
SAMIR NASRI maintained his lead at the top of the Dream Team standings with another Star Man show. The Arsenal midfielder picked up 15 points in the world's No1 fantasy football game as he led Birmingham a merry dance. Nasri doubled Robin van Persie's opener before Roger Johnson's own goal sealed Brum's fate in the 3-0 defeat. Gareth Bale is Nasri's closest pursuer and his strike earned Tottenham a 1-0 win over London rivals Fulham. But Bale was denied bonus points as Luka Modric picked up the Star Man plaudits. Liverpool's big names shone as they left it late to beat Bolton 2-1 at Anfield. Fernando Torres and Joe Cole netted for the Reds, who were indebted to sub Steven Gerrard's Star Man display for hoisting them into the top half. At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's big guns were all on target - but it was still not enough to beat Aston Villa. Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and John Terry scored for the Blues. But they were left stunned as Villa made it 3-3 in stoppage time. Adam Johnson earned a rare start from Roberto Mancini - and repaid his manager's faith by bagging Manchester City's winner against Blackpool. But the Seasiders played their part in a pulsating match and midfielder Charlie Adam scooped the Star Man honours. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce saw his strikers click at last as Sunderland beat Blackburn 3-0. Danny Welbeck, Darren Bent and Asamoah Gyan all hit the target. Wayne Rooney scored his first goal in open play since March and Javi Hernandez netted a late winner as Manchester United made hard work of beating West Brom 2-1. Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones' Star Man performance helped the Potters see off Everton 2-0. West Ham beat relegation rivals Wolves by the same margin, while Shola Ameobi stepped into the crocked Andy Carroll's boots to hit Newcastle's winner against Wigan.

XMAS
DIMITAR BERBATOV made it a gr-eight night for Dream Teamers with another goal for Manchester United. The Bulgarian hitman notched his eighth goal in three games to help United back to the summit after Manchester City took top spot for a few hours on Tuesday. Lee Bowyer's late goal gave Birmingham a 1-1 draw against Alex Ferguson's men. But Berbatov's all-round display bagged the Star Man bonus. Mario Balotelli grabbed a hat-trick for City in their 4-0 demolition of Aston Villa. But his treble was not enough to earn the Star Man plaudits, which went to team-mate David Silva for his tidy promptings. Wing kings Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale were on target as Tottenham stayed in the title hunt with a 2-0 win over Newcastle. Playmaker Luka Modric stole the show with a midfield masterclass. But Spurs' afternoon was soured by a red card for defender Younes Kaboul, who headbutted Cheik Tiote. Fulham defender Chris Baird more than doubled his Dream Team tally for the season at the Britannia Stadium. Baird netted both goals in the Londoners' 2-0 win, while also scooping clean sheet and Star Man extras. Man of the match DJ Campbell bagged a brace as Blackpool stunned Sunderland 2-0 at the Stadium of Light. Nikola Kalinic hit two as Blackburn picked up three precious points at West Brom. But Kalinic ruined his afternoon by getting sent off for a crude kick on Paul Scharner. Seamus Coleman was Everton's Star Man saviour as he cancelled out Tony Hibbert's own goal in the 1-1 draw at West Ham. DREAM TEAM bosses were left scratching their heads as Liverpool's big names flopped AGAIN. Fernando Torres could only manage a THREE last night while Sotirios Kyrgiakos was the highest-scoring defender - with just 5. Richard Stearman was the Star Man for Wolves as Stephen Ward's goal handed them a 1-0 win at Anfield. Chelsea ended their rotten run of seven games without a win yet it was Bolton star Sam Ricketts who picked up the man-of-the-match bonus. And Hugo Rodallega was top dog in Wigan's 2-2 thriller with Arsenal, where Charles N'Zogbia was sent off

SATURDAY 11/12/2010 - FRIDAY 17/12/2010

WEEKEND
JOEY BARTON was back in the headlines for the right - and wrong - reasons at St James' Park. The Newcastle midfielder led by example with an all-action display as Toon sunk Liverpool 3-1. He netted the Magpies' crucial second goal with 10 minutes remaining to scoop the Star Man bonus. But just before his strike he was caught making obscene gestures at Kop star Fernando Torres - and faces possible FA sanctions. Regular scorers Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll were also on target for new boss Alan Pardew, the latter reaching double figures in the Premier League. But the defeat spelt more misery for Kop boss Roy Hodgson, who saw Dirk Kuyt grab the Reds' only goal. Benoit Assou-Ekotto was the unlikely Star Man as champions Chelsea were held 1-1 at Tottenham. The Spurs defender made some crucial tackles and blocks to ensure the Blues' slump continued. Roman Pavlyuchenko opened the scoring for Tottenham before sub Didier Drogba levelled. Keeper Heurelho Gomes let Drogba's equalising effort slip through his grasp before conceding a penalty by bundling over Ramires. But he made amends and earned a three-point bonus for keeping out Drogba's spot-kick. Drogba's Ivory Coast team-mate Yaya Toure ran the show at Upton Park as Manchester City steamrollered West Ham 3-1. Toure hit the opener and had a hand in City's second goal to ease to Star Man glory. Joe Hart was denied a clean sheet when James Tomkins headed home late on for the Hammers. Charlie Adam's promptings helped Blackpool record a surprise win at Stoke. DJ Campbell netted just his third Premier League goal of the season to steal the points. Aston Villa starlet Marc Albrighton stood out from the crowd with a dazzling display as Gerard Houllier got back on track against West Brom. Villa striker Emile Heskey grabbed a fortuitous 80th-minute goal that proved to be the winner. There were plenty of clean sheet points at the weekend as Fulham and Sunderland, and Everton and Wigan, both played out goalless draws. Ten-man Bolton snatched a late win against rivals Blackburn, while Stephen Hunt's goal separated Midlands foes Wolves and Birmingham at Molineux.

SATURDAY 04/12/2010 - FRIDAY 10/12/2010

WEEKEND
SAMIR NASRI staked his claim for the Player of the Season award with another deadly double. The Arsenal midfielder was Star Man yet again as he netted his THIRD brace this season - and took his tally to 11 goals. He is now in a two-way shootout with Tottenham's Gareth Bale to be top points scorer in Dream Team this term. Nasri's two wonderstrikes helped Arsenal beat Fulham 2-1 with Diomansy Kamara scoring for the Cottagers. Elsewhere, Didier Drogba got back on the goal trail for Chelsea as the Blues drew 2-2 with Everton. Jermaine Beckford cancelled out the Ivorian's effort with an 86th-minute leveller as Leighton Baines took the Star Man aw Carlos Tevez grabbed the only goal for Man City against Bolton with defender Vincent Kompany taking the top plaudits. England new-boy Jordan Henderson was on target for the first time this season as his Sunderland side beat rock bottom West Ham. And he was named Star Man on Sunday at the Stadium of Light - just like West Brom's Somen Tchoyi. The Baggies ace opened the scoring against Newcastle before Peter Odemwingie scored twice. Peter Lovenkrands got on the scoresheet in added time with a consolation for the Magpies. Meanwhile, on Saturday there were also Star Man awards for Sebastian Bassong, Morten Gamst Pedersen and Charles N'Zgobia.

TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY
SAMIR NASRI continued his assault at the top of the Dream Team rankings as Arsenal cruised into the Champions League knockouts. The midfield maestro netted the final goal in a 3-1 home win against Partizan Belgrade. That was enough to earn him his fourth Star Man award of a stunning season. Robin van Persie made a welcome return to the Dream Team scoring charts with his first goal since May. He netted the opener from the penalty spot before Cleo levelled for Partizan. But supersub Theo Walcott put Arsenal in front with a thunderous volley before Nasri had the final say. Arsenal's night was soured by a late red card for Bacary Sagna. Carlo Ancelotti fielded all his big guns as Chelsea looked to find some form in their final Champions League group game. But John Terry and his Blues backline failed to pick up a clean sheet bonus as Brandao's late strike condemned the English champions to their first defeat in the season's competition. On Tuesday, Jermain Defoe arrived at the double to help Spurs top their Champions League group. The England star has yet to net in the Premier League this season. But his second and third Euro goals this term earned Tottenham the point they needed to stay at the Group A summit. Harry Redknapp's men took the lead three times in their 3-3 draw at FC Twente. And the Londoners were thankful to Star Man Heurelho Gomes that the Dutch side did not score more. Back in England, Manchester United needed some Brazilian magic to clinch top spot in Group C. Midfield star Anderson netted a second-half equaliser as Alex Ferguson's men were held at home by Valencia. But the draw was good enough to stay above the Spaniards and ensure they avoid bigs guns Barcelona and Real Madrid in the last 16.

SATURDAY 27/11/2010 - FRIDAY 03/12/2010

WEEKEND
DIMITAR BERBATOV was on cloud 9 after his five-goal super-show against Blackburn. The Manchester United hitman was just a point off full marks and took the Star Man award for his astonishing haul. Ji-Sung Park and Nani grabbed the other goals in the 7-1 win, while Wayne Rooney gave managers a reason to cheer with an 8. Liverpool blew a lead against Tottenham yet it was defender Jamie Carragher who took home the bonus. The Kop man picked up a 8 while Martin Skrtel - who scored at BOTH ends - was awarded a 6. Aaron Lennon hit the late winner for Spurs but the winger could only manage a 6. Andy Carroll and Salomon Kalou were back in the goals at St James' Park - but it was Tim Krul who put in a Star turn. The Toon stopper was top of the pile as Newcastle held the champs to a 1-1 draw. Andrey Arshavin was man-of-the-match as he got the ball rolling on Arsenal's 4-2 win at Aston Villa. The Russian bagged the first goal, with Samir Nasri, Marouane Chamakh and Jack Wilshere also finding the net. Ciaran Clark led the fightback with a double but it was two little, too late for Villa. Scott Parker put in another wonder-shift with a 9, a goal and the Star Man bonus against Wigan. And the West Ham skipper was joined on the scoresheet by Valon Behrami and Victor Obinna at Upton Park. Tom Cleverley grabbed one back but the Hammers still ran out 3-1 winners. At the Britannia, David Silva was top dog but Manchester City could not stop Stoke taking a point in a 1-1 draw. And David Vaughan, Kevin Doyle and Zoltan Gera were the shining lights in the weekend's other games.

TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY
VICTOR OBINNA outshone West Ham's two-goal heroes Jonathan Spector and Carlton Cole as West Ham turned a shock Carling Cup defeat of Man United into a feast of Dream Team points. Pacy Star Man Obinna menaced United all night as the Hammers reached the semi-finals with a 4-0 romp. Arsenal's three Englishmen rated highest in a 2-0 victory over Wigan, earned by Antolin Alcaraz's own goal and Nicklas Bendtner's close-range poke. Defender Kieran Gibbs landed the individual bonus, ahead of fellow three Lions youngsters Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott. In the other two semi-finals, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Tamas Priskin picked up the Star Man awards. And Mario Balotelli was the top dog as Manchester City beat Europa League rivals Salzburg 3-0. Milan Jovanovic lifted his hopes of a regular place with a neat headed opener as Liverpool drew 1-1 at Steaua Bucharest. But centre-back Sotirios Kyrgiakos was the only other Kop man to rate as high as a seven.

SATURDAY 20/11/2010 - FRIDAY 26/11/2010

WEEKEND
JOHAN ELMANDER and Kevin Davies led a Dream Team feast for unsung Bolton. Star Man Elmander and ever-reliable Davies hit two apiece - as Newcastle were thumped 5-1 - to confirm they are one of the Premier league's most improved strike partnerships. Carlos Tevez and Morten Gamst Pedersen were the weekend's other two-goal heroes. Striker Tevez earned a player-of-the-match bonus in Manchester City's 4-1 exhibition at Fulham. And goal-poaching midfielder Pedersen did likewise as he clinched Blackburn's 2-0 home triumph over Aston Villa. But perhaps the happiest Star Man was William Gallas. Gareth Bale, Rafael van Der Vaart's penalty and Younes Kaboul snatched Tottenham's dazzling 3-2 comeback win at Gallas' old club Arsenal. Keeper Ben Foster easily outshone Chelsea's big-names by notching the individual plaudits in Birmingham's shock 1-0 victory at St Andrew's. And Wayne Rooney came off the bench for Manchester United to rate just six on his long-awaited return. Star Man Patrice Evra and Javier Hernandez clinched United's 2-0 defeat of Wigan, for whom Antolin Alcaraz and Hugo Rodallega saw red. Maxi Rodriguez bagged Liverpool's third goal to seal his Star Man award in a 3-0 rout of bottom side West Ham. Other top men were Blackpool's wonder-goal scorer Luke Varney, in a 2-1 victory over Wolves, and Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross, after a 3-0 success at West Brom.

MONDAY
In the Monday night match, Danny Welbeck netted twice in Sunderland's 2-2 home draw with Everton to earn the five bonus points. Midfield maestros Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta were on target for the Toffees.

TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY
GARETH BALE inspired Tottenham in Europe again as they hammered Germans Werder Bremen. The Welsh wonder was Star Man for Spurs in the 3-0 victory at White Hart Lane. That was despite missing a penalty for the home team in a one-sided clash. Younes Kaboul, Luka Modric and Peter Crouch grabbed the goals to send Harry Redknapp's men through to the last 16 of the Champions League. Paul Scholes was Manchester United's Star Man as they scraped past Rangers 1-0. Wayne Rooney, making his first start since September, scored an 86th-minute penalty to seal the win. Salomon Kalou was the only player to score a rating of seven or higher on a drab night Champions League action for English clubs. Chelsea had to come from behind to beat Slovakian minnows MSK Zilina and they struggled to impress. Star man Kalou was their highest-rated player after he came on as sub to inspire their comeback. Daniel Sturridge and Florent Malouda grabbed the goals to keep up their 100 per cent record in Europe this season. Elsewhere, it was a nightmare trip to Portugal for Arsenal as they lost 2-0 to Braga. It was made even worse by injuries to captain Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Eboue.

SATURDAY 13/11/2010 - FRIDAY 19/11/2010

WEEKEND
Hail Bale! The Gar's a star again
NEW Dream Team sensation Gareth Bale took his tally to 52 points from the past five weeks with a Star Man double. The Welsh wideman struck in either half as Tottenham beat Blackburn 4-2. That took Bale to 17 points for the match - continuing a bumper spell launched by a hat-trick and 25-point haul in a 4-2 loss at Inter Milan on October 20. But Cesc Fabregas is still matching his North London rival, notching Arsenal's second goal on his way to Star Man honours in a 2-1 victory at Everton. Danny Welbeck's non-stop menace earned the on-loan forward a late strike and the top-player bonus as Sunderland won 3-0 at leaders Chelsea. And Ricardo Fuller was similarly rewarded for his own livewire role in the weekend's other big upset. He prodded the opener in Stoke's first defeat of Liverpool for 26 years, a 2-0 triumph clinched in the final minute by front-partner Kenwyne Jones. Federico Macheda and Nemanja Vidic netted in the last five minutes to rescue a 2-2 draw for Manchester United at Aston Villa. Ashley Young (71 minutes) and Marc Albrighton (76) struck earlier in a breathtaking climax, with Villa's Star Man winger Stewart Downing prominent. Charles N'Zogbia underlined his fine form as a rating of nine that easily made him man-of-the-match in Wigan's 1-0 success over West Brom. Three players took Star Man awards from 0-0 draws - Fulham defender Brede Hangeland at Newcastle, Birmingham right-back Stephen Carr away to Manchester City, and West Ham playmaker Mark Noble at home to Blackpool. Bolton's unsung rise to fifth place led to a top-performer bonus for Johan Elmander, whose sixth goal of the season helped see off Wolves 3-2.

SATURDAY 06/11/2010 - FRIDAY 12/11/2010

WEEKEND
On-song Kop star is back on Torr
FERNANDO TORRES stepped up his recovery at the double - as one of FOUR weekend Star Men to bag two goals. The Liverpool striker saw off leaders Chelsea by underlining boss Roy Hodgson's view that he is nearing his best form. Ji-Sung Park became the latest Manchester United player to loom out of crock Wayne Rooney's shadow, completing his brace in stoppage time as Wolves succumbed 2-1. Kevin Davies struck twice, including a penalty opener, as Bolton's battlers outshone Tottenham's bigger names on the way to a 4-2 win. And Sunderland hitman Asamoah Gyan peaked his non-stop menace with the goals that defeated unlucky Stoke 2-0. Finally-fit frontman Mario Balotelli was the only double hero who failed to notch a Star Man bonus - as he picked up a controversial red card in Manchester City's 2-0 victory at West Brom. Player-of-the-match Yaya Toure was one of three City team-mates to rate higher than the Italian's seven out of 10. Other Star Men included West Ham scorer Valon Behrami after a 2-2 draw at Birmingham, Wigan's goal-netter Charles N'Zogbia in a 2-1 loss away to Blackburn, Everton's second scorer Seamus Coleman following a 2-2 stalemate at Blackpool, and Marc Albrighton, who nicked Aston Villa's opener in a 1-1 draw at Fulham. Cheik Tiote pipped match-winner Andy Carroll to the individual honours in Newcastle's shock 1-0 success at Arsenal.

MONDAY
No Monday Night Games

TUESDAY
Rafael van der Vaart was the champ as Spurs drew 1-1 with Sunderland. And Kenwyne Jones was Birmingham's chief tormentor in Stoke's 3-2 win at St Andrew's.

WEDNESDAY
Gunners Cham pain for Wolves
MAROUANE CHAMAKH got Arsenal off to a flying start to get their title charge back on track. The Gunners hitman struck after just 37 seconds and then grabbed another in the last minute to wrap up the points. Table-topping Chelsea extended their lead at the top thanks to Michael Essien's early strike against Fulham. But the champions were made to sweat for the three points, particularly after the Ghanaian international saw red for a lunge on Clint Dempsey. The Manchester derby ended in a stalemate with United skipper Nemanja Vidic taking the Star Man award for nullifying the threat of Carlos Tevez. Newcastle came crashing to earth after their weekend win at Arsenal, as Blackburn trumped them at St James'. Andy Carroll cancelled out Morten Gamst Pedersen's early strike but Jason Roberts came off the bench to grab the winner. Everton fought back for a point at home to Bolton. Ivan Klasnic had given the visitors the lead before Marouane Fellaini lashed out at Paul Robinson and was sent off. However, Jermaine Beckford came off the bench to smash a last-gasp leveller. Liverpool looked to be flying when Fernando Torres put them ahead at Wigan. But the home side played some flowing football at the DW Stadium after the break, deserved their equaliser through Hugo Rodallega and dominated the second half. West Brom shared the spoils with West Ham at Upton Park. Scott Parker and Frederic Piquionne turned the game around after Peter Odemwingie's had given the Baggies the lead from the spot. But Pablo Ibanez struck 20 minutes from time for a share of the spoils. Blackpool slipped to an odd goal in five defeat at Aston Villa. With 10 changes to their weekend team, Marlon Harewood and DJ Campbell twice got them back on level terms before James Collins joined Stewart Downing and Nathan Delfouneso on the scoresheet with the winner two minutes from time.

SATURDAY 30/10/2010 - FRIDAY 05/11/2010

WEEKEND
You are flipping great, Nani
NANI caused a storm at Old Trafford - but it was not just his controversial goal that got tongues wagging. The Portugal star was the talk of the terraces after his cheeky effort past Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes. That goal grabbed the headlines yet his Star Man effort did not go unnoticed as Manchester United won 2-0. Nemanja Vidic opened the scoring and matched Nani's rating with an 8. Kevin Nolan had the Tyne of his life as Newcastle smashed Sunderland 5-1. The Toon skipper grabbed a hat-trick against their deadly rivals, with Shola Ameobi scoring twice. Nolan was rewarded with a 9 - as was bad-boy midfielder Joey Barton - and the Star Man bonus for his efforts. Maxi Rodriguez lifted Liverpool with a goal and a man-of-the-match turn against Bolton. The Argie wonder grabbed winner in a 1-0 win - but Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole both flopped with 5s. Rob Green led a one-man resistance against Arsenal but finally succumbed in the dying stages. The Gunners knocked and knocked but Green held firm until Alex Song eventually broke through on 88 minutes. Yet Green was still rewarded for his brave display with a 9 and the Star Man bonus. Nicolas Anelka and Branislav Ivanovic fired Chelsea to a 2-1 win over Blackburn. But it was resurgent star Yuri Zhirkov who topped the ratings with a sparkling solo display. Matt Jarvis led the pack as Wolves stunned Manchester City 2-1 at Molineux. Emmanuel Adebayor had put City ahead but Nenad Milijas and Dave Edwards made it a day to forget for Roberto Mancinis men. Phil Neville rolled back the years with a top-drawer display as Everton beat Stoke 1-0. Clint Dempsey grabbed a brace for Fulham while Roger Johnson was top dog in the goalless Midlands derby.

MONDAY
On Monday, Chris Brunt was top of the pile but he could not do enough as West Brom slipped up 2-1 at Blackpool.

TUESDAY
GARETH BALES reputation is growing almost as fast as his Dream Team scoring. The Welsh wing wonder followed up his hat-trick away to Inter Milan by teeing up the two goals that destroyed the European champions in Tottenhams 3-1 home win. Van der Vaart hit Spurs opener before Star Man Bale surged down the left to deliver pinpoint crosses for Crouch and substitute Pavlyuchenko. Gabriel Obertan fired the pick of Man Uniteds three second-half strikes in a 3-0 Champions League romp away to Bursaspor. The Frenchman nicked the Star Man award from opening scorer Darren Fletcher, while Bebe sllipped Uniteds third goal.

WEDNESDAY
Nic has got the knack for Blues
NICOLAS ANELKA got the better of strike pal Didier Drogba as Chelsea cruised into the knockout stages of the Champions League. Anelka got the Blues up and running in their 4-1 demolition of Spartak Moscow at Stamford Bridge. Drogba got in on the act with Chelsea's second from the penalty spot. But Anelka took the Star Man bonus to move ahead of Drogba in the Dream Team points chart. Defender Branislav Ivanovic made up for Chelsea's failure to keep a clean sheet with a double strike to round off the scoring. Arsenal old boy Eduardo got revenge on his former club by netting the winner in Shakhtar Donetsk's 2-1 victory. Theo Walcott netted the opener for the Gunners to continue his impressive season in the world's No1 fantasy football game.

THURSDAY
Hero Stevie racks up the points
STEVEN GERRARD earned his faithful Dream Team managers a whopping 28 points after his stunning hat-trick against Napoli. The Liverpool skipper has been misfiring this season and would have been chopped by many bosses in the transfer window. However, he rewarded those that kept him in their teams with a Star Man performance for his three goals.

Walc of doom for Toon

THEO WALCOTTS Star Man double made him Dream Team's Carling darling of the week. The winger struck twice after keeper Tim Kruls freak own goal, with Nicklas Bendtner lashing the third goal as Arsenal thumped Newcastle 4-0. Emile Heskey's 86th minute opener and fellow substitute Stewart Downing's cracking extra-time winner failed to deny Burnley keeper Lee Grant man-of-the-match honours as Aston Villa reached the Carling Cup last eight with a 2-1 win. And Mr Consistency, Scott Parker, bagged a late equaliser in a Star Man show that sparked West Hams 3-1 extra-time defeat of Stoke.

Jav is Herning the big points

JAVIER HERNANDEZ looks like a steal after his second winner in a week. The Manchester United striker killed off Wolves at Old Trafford just days after seeing off Stoke. The red-hot striker is valued at just £3million but has now picked up 26 points in three days. Matt Jarvis was the Star Man but his magic could not stop United running out 3-2 winners. West Brom put Sven Goran Eriksson to the sword by thumping Leicester 4-1. Simon Cox scored twice yet it was Somen Tchoyi - who completed the rout with Steven Reid - who took the bonus. Wigan saw off Swansea - with Hendry Thomas the top dog. And although Birmingham squeaked past Brentford all the buzz was about the Bees Myles Weston.

Goal king Mal goes with the Flo

FLORENT MALOUDA stormed to the top of the Dream Team charts with his seventh Premier League goal of the season. Malouda opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea saw off Wolves 2-0. His strike took him past Carlos Tevezs 78-point haul after the Argie failed to fire against Arsenal. Manchester City were undone by Dedryck Boyatas early red card at Eastlands. And Star Man Samir Nasri got the Gunners up and running with the opener. Joe Hart earned three bonus points for saving Cesc Fabregas penalty. But the England No1 was beaten by Alex Song and Nicklas Bendtner as Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners. Fans at the Britannia Stadium witnessed one of the great goals as Javier Hernandezs back header stunned the Potters. Tuncay levelled for Stoke but Star Man Hernandez had the final say with a late winner. At Anfield, Fernando Torres looked more like the deadly striker of old as he netted in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Blackburn. But it was Sotirios Kyrgiakos who stole the show with the opener and a solid display to bank the five points for Star Man. Rafael van Der Vaart kept up his impressive scoring record for Spurs with their equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Everton. At the Hawthorns, Chris Brunt ran the midfield as West Brom came from a freak goal down to earn a 2-1 win against Fulham. Newcastle battering ram Andy Carroll dished out some heavy punishment to West Ham with the winner at Upton Park. But the Star Man plaudits went to reformed bad boy Joey Barton who played a role in both Toon goals. Elsewhere, bargain strikers Hugo Rodallega and Johan Elmander scored a goal apiece as Wigan and Bolton played out a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium. Richard Dunnes own goal separated the sides at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland beat Aston Villa 1-0. And at St Andrews, Nikola Zigic killed off Blackpool with a poachers strike as Birmingham ended their poor run with a 2-0 victory.

Threesy does it for Adebayor

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR started his campaign with a bang after his Europa League hat-trick downed Lech Poznan. The Togo hitman was given his chance at Eastlands as boss Roberto Mancini took the opportunity of resting in-form Carlos Tevez. And Adebayor responded in perfect style with a treble that netted him a mammoth 28 Dream Team points. Citys backline failed to add a clean sheet bonus, though, as the Poles replied just after half-time. In the nights other game, Liverpools second string managed a creditable goalless draw at Napoli - earning Jamie Carragher and Co a five-point bonus for the shutout.

Gareth the San Hero in defeat

GARETH BALE hit a stunning hat-trick but Spurs still fell short at the San Siro. The Welsh wing wizard struck three sparkling second-half goals as Harry Redknapps 10-men clawed their way back from 4-0 down to give Inter Milan a fright. But with Heurelho Gomes sent off early on it was always going to be a tough task for the Londoners to rescue a point. Nani was the hero at Old Trafford as Man Utd saw off Bursaspor 1-0. The Star Man showed his skills as early as the seventh minute, cutting in from the right to fire a 25-yard left-foot strike into the far corner and keep United top of Group C.

Gaffers see Red over Kop flops

LIVERPOOLS big names are giving Dream Team managers a real headache after they flopped AGAIN. Fernando Torres and Joe Cole both sunk to a 4 as the Reds were humbled by Everton. Tim Cahill (8) and Mikel Arteta (8) scored the goals as the Toffees beat their deadly foes 2-0. Yakubu was Star Man with a 9 while Sylvain Distin and Seamus Coleman both matched his rating. Jack Wilshere hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons as Arsenal beat Birmingham 2-1. The young Gunn was sent off in the dying stages for a horror tackle on Brum goalscorer Nikola Zigic (7). But Wilshere (8) also picked up the Star Man bonus for his efforts before he lost his cool. Manchester Uniteds defenders had a shocker as they shipped a two-goal lead against West Brom. United were cruising at 2-0 after Javier Hernandez (7) and Nani (7) had found the net. But Patrice Evras (6) own goal got the Baggies back in it before Edwin van der Sars (4) howler allowed Somen Tchoyl (7) to level. Chelsea missed their top Drog as they were held in a Villa Park stalemate. Nicolas Anelka (5) was charged with leading the line in Didier Drogbas absence but fluffed a series of chances as it ended 0-0. But at the back, John Terry (8) and Ashley Cole (8) were immense, with Cole taking the man-of-the-match bonus. Rafael van der Vaart turned on the class with an 8 as Tottenham beat Fulham 2-1. Diomansy Kamara (7) opened the scoring before Van der Vaarts genius allowed Roman Pavlyuchenko (7) to level. Tom Huddlestone (7) then hit the winner as the points in this London derby went north. Carlos Tevez (8) put on a two-goal supershow as Manchester City beat Blackpool 3-2. And Scott Parker (9), Gary Cahill (8) and Charles N'Zogbia (9) were all top of the class in the rest of the action.
