PRE MATCH REVIEW
|
|
MUZOMETER says DRAW. Dutch playmaker Rafael van der Vaart is likely to return to the Tottenham line-up after missing the game at
Inter Milan through suspension. Spurs could also welcome back Younes Kaboul after a hamstring injury, but Ledley King remains
sidelined with a groin problem. Everton will be without Leon Osman, who has been ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.
But Steven Pienaar and Louis Saha are on the road to recovery and may return.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Tottenham failed to beat battling Everton despite producing some vibrant attacking football at White Hart Lane.
The visitors took a 17th-minute lead against the run of play thanks to Leighton Bainess brilliant free-kick. But
Spurs levelled three minutes later as Everton keeper Tim Howard flapped at a cross which Peter Crouch bundled back
for Rafael Van der Vaart to crash home. The hosts went for a winner but were unable to break Everton down in a second
half which ended in frustration.

PRE MATCH REVIEW
|
|
MUZOMETER says BIRMINGHAM. However with Birminghams current form and Blackpools refreshing attacking play this could also be a draw.
Birmingham forward Cameron Jerome is still struggling with a knee injury, so Nikola Zigic could again deputise. Martin Jiranek is a
doubt with a hip complaint, Jean Beausejour has not yet returned to full fitness, and Craig Gardner completes a ban. Blackpool manager
Ian Holloway has no fresh injury concerns. Alex Baptiste, Billy Clark and Paul Rachubka remain sidelined with knee problems, while Louis
Almond is still out with a dislocated shoulder.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Birmingham earned their first Premier League victory since August after outclassing Blackpool at St Andrews. Liam Ridgewell gave
the hosts the lead just before the break, nodding home from two yards after Nikola Zigics header came back off the crossbar. Star
midfielder Charlie Adam then gave the ball away in his own six-yard box and allowed Zigic to double the lead. Blackpool were
enterprising but lacked a cutting edge as the home side closed out a comfortable win.

PRE MATCH REVIEW
|
|
MUZOMETER says CHELSEA. Didier Drogba looks set to return to the Chelsea attack after missing the last two matches with a virus.
But Frank Lampard will have to wait a bit longer for his comeback. Wolves defender Jody Craddock is a major doubt with a hip injury,
while the on-loan Michael Mancienne is unavailable against his parent club. David Davis has been recalled from his loan spell at
Walsall, and Stephen Hunt will be hoping to finally make his debut after a foot injury.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Premier League pacesetters Chelsea stretched their lead to five points with a hard-fought victory over Wolves. The visitors created
several chances in an open game with David Edwards and Kevin Doyle both going close. But Chelseas attacking quality told and Florent
Malouda calmly sidefooted them ahead from Yuri Zhirkovs pass. The champions wasted a number of opportunities but sealed the win late
on when substitute Salomon Kalou slid the ball home after a sweet move. Kalous late clinching second, after a glorious piece of
interplay involving Michael Essien and Didier Drogba, was probably deserved but Mick McCarthys men played a full part in an
entertaining game.

PRE MATCH REVIEW
|
|
MUZOMETER says DRAW. Sunderlands Kieran Richardson is unlikely to play following a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Darren Bent is no longer troubled by the groin problem he sustained on England duty. Aston Villa are strengthened by the return of
Emile Heskey and Marc Albrighton, while Richard Dunne has overcome a gashed ankle. Gabriel Agbonlahor remains sidelined after recent
groin surgery, and Luke Young is out with a torn hamstring.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Richard Dunnes first-half own-goal proved the difference as Sunderland ended their winless run by hanging on for victory over
Aston Villa. Villas Stewart Downing hit a post early on but Dunne volleyed past Brad Friedel to gift Sunderland the lead. Danny
Welbeck and Ahmed Elmohamady came close to making it two before Villa dominated the second half. Ashley Young, Marc Albrighton,
Emile Heskey and Dunne had chances but the hosts held on for a first win in six. The result sees Sunderland move up to seventh
on 12 points and Aston Villa drop to ninth, a point behind.

PRE MATCH REVIEW
|
|
MUZOMETER says DRAW. West Broms top scorer Peter Odemwingie is struggling to overcome a knee injury and will have a late fitness test.
Winger Jerome Thomas is in contention for a recall to the starting line-up after fully recovering from a calf problem. Fulham striker
Andy Johnson looks set to make his first appearance since January after recovering from shoulder, knee and hip injuries. But midfielder
Danny Murphy is ruled out with a groin strain.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
West Brom moved into fourth spot in the Premier League after preserving their unbeaten home record by beating Fulham. The Baggies
conceded in unfortunate fashion when former West Brom player Zoltan Geras fine shot came back off a post, hit Scott Carson and
trickled in. But Youssuf Mulumbu levelled with his first goal of the season as a low shot beat Mark Schwarzer at his near post.
And shortly before the break Marc-Antoine Fortune slotted in after a neat cut-back from Jerome Thomas. Fulham remain without an
away victory since the opening day of last season, though this was their first league defeat on the road this term. However, Fulham
were unhappy with both West Brom goals and their manager Mark Hughes waited for referee Kevin Friend at the final whistle to air
his grievances.

MUZOMETER says DRAW. Wigan keeper Ali Al-Habsi is ineligible to play against his parent club, so Chris Kirland will return in goal.
Striker Franco Di Santo, who had 10 stitches in his lip this week after a collision in training, and Steve Gohouri are slight doubts.
Bolton will be without suspended striker Ivan Klasnic following his red card in the victory over Stoke. Andy OBrien, Joey OBrien,
Ricardo Gardner, Jlloyd Samuel and Sean Davis remain sidelined.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Johan Elmander stabbed home a close-range second-half equaliser to earn Bolton a point from a committed and entertaining contest
against Wigan. The Sweden international converted a knock-down from Matthew Taylor after a cross into the six-yard box caused
mayhem in the Latics defence. Hugo Rodallega had given Wigan the lead minutes earlier with an angled effort after a touch from
Franco Di Santo. Rodallega later headed wide, wasting a fine chance to give Wigan victory.

MUZOMETER says DRAW. West Ham welcome back defender Matthew Upson, who missed last weeks draw against Wolves with a neck spasm.
Zavon Hines and Jack Collison are recovering well from knee injuries but are unlikely to return before the end of the year.
Newcastle skipper Kevin Nolan returns to the squad having been rested last weekend with an ankle problem. Defender Danny Simpson
could make his first appearance of the season after overcoming an ankle injury.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Andy Carroll put a troubled week behind him by heading Newcastles winner in a 2-1 win that leaves West Ham rooted to the bottom of
the Premier League table. The striker, who appeared in court on an assault charge on Monday, nodded in Joey Bartons cross from close
range. Carroll had earlier set up Kevin Nolan for Newcastles equaliser - heading a Barton centre into his skippers path. Carlton
Coles opener for West Ham came after early pressure but the home side were outplayed from then on.

|
MUZOMETER says MAN UTD. Although with all the shananigans at Manchester this could be a draw. Stoke striker Ricardo Fuller
could be on the bench despite aggravating a shoulder injury at Bolton. Midfielder Dean Whitehead serves a one-game ban after
collecting his fifth booking of the season last weekend. Manchester United are expected to be without striker Wayne Rooney,
who injured his ankle in training on Tuesday. Jonny Evans is nursing a hip problem, while Michael Owen and Ryan Giggs are
both ruled out.
|
|
POST MATCH REVIEW
|
|
Underway at the Brittania. 26 mins gone and Hernandez with a superb improvised header to make it 1-0. More cheating
and its Man Utd again. Neville should be booked and be off. But again its Man U so different rules apply. Second Half and
Neville has been subbed off, we are guessing this was probably an agreement between the ref and Alex. Allowing Man U to keep
11 players on the pitch. This is shocking a 50 50 challenge, Nani starts crying, ref waves play on. Alex screams from
the sideline, ref blows for freekick and gives yellow card to the Stoke player. Nani gets up nothing wrong. Filthy, disgusting
and other words that we cannot print come to mind. Van Der Sar pulls Huth to the ground after getting himself in a muddle,
clear penalty but would you believe it ref gives Man Utd the free kick. Looks like Tuncay leaving in a cab when told he was not even
a sub last week has worked wanders as he comes on. Evra slams the ball into Huths hand, claims for a penalty ref waves play on.
What a stunning goal from Tuncay he cuts in and curls the ball into the top corner. 1-1. Hernandez taps the ball in for 1-2.
Final Score 1-2.

PRE MATCH REVIEW

MUZOMETER says LIVERPOOL. This game could also be a draw considering Hodgson is still in charge. Liverpool could
again be without defenders Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger for Sundays game against Blackburn. Captain Steven Gerrard
and striker Fernando Torres will return after being rested for Europa League duty. Blackburn centre-back Chris Samba
serves a one-game ban following his sending off against Sunderland. Striker Benjani has overcome a neck injury, while
fellow forward Jason Roberts has recovered from illness.

About to get under way at Anfield and the NESV owners singing to Never walk alone. A couple of chances for Liverpool but Robinson
has stood firm, saving from Cole and Gerrard. All Liverpool in the first half but just have not been able to convert one of their many
chances into a goal. 0-0 Half Time. A great start to the second half for Liverpool as Kyriakos makes it 1-0. 51 mins oown goal from
Carragher 1-1. 53 mins Torres makes it 2-1. FINAL SCORE 2-1.

PRE MATCH REVIEW

MUZOMETER says DRAW. Fit-again Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli could be on the bench, but left-back Aleksandar Kolarov
will not feature despite returning to training. City will assess former Arsenal defender Kolo Toure, who is nursing a hamstring
problem. Arsenals Bacary Sagna returns after injury, but fellow defender Laurent Koscielny is unlikely to recover from a back
problem in time to play. Midfielder Jack Wilshere is suspended, but captain Cesc Fabregas is fit.

POST MATCH REVIEW

Underway at the City Ground. Only a minute gone and Fabianski is called into action already from a Silva flick.
After incessant Man City pressure, they are down to 10 men. Fabregas slides a lovely pass through to Chamakh and
Boyata fouls him - the ref has got no choice but to send him off and its 10 v 11. First blood to the Gunners. Sagna
finds Nasri just outside the City area, and he conjures up a fine goal, playing a lovely one-two with Arshavin and
firing past the advancing Hart from eight yards. 0-1. 40 mins PENALTY. Fabregas steps up but Hart denies him great
save. Half time. Alex Song hammers the ball into the top corner. 0-2. Samir Nasri seems to run the ball out of play
on the Gunners left on halfway but is allowed to play on, and slides a ball through for Nicklas Bendtner, who is
marginally onside, runs through, opens his body and slots into the corner. 0-3. FINAL SCORE.
